I Hate my Flipping Computer but I Love Halloween

I've been having the hardest time with my computer and it's driving me absolutely insane. I built the damn thing, which means it should cooperate. There's an issue with the hdd and I can't seem to keep the thing stable long enough for me to fix it. Oh well.

I decided to go out for Halloween weekend as my SIL (sister-in-law) asked me to. I really need to start going out more. It's getting to the point that I am bored before I even get to where I'm going. Am I so old that dinner and a movie is all that I can handle? The hubby is out for a night on the town and just texted me to let me know how bored he is at our favorite local hangout, so at least it's not just me. On the bright side, I get the house to myself. Well, myself and my Pom Jersey. This means that I started my evening off by singing as loudly as I could manage while in the shower and watch all of my shows. Most nights the hubby and I watch "our" shows or his shows since I am home during the day to watch mine. It's nice not having to wait twelve hours, although I am a bit concerned about what I'll have left to watch in the morning.

Jersey the dog. You can see the hubby was pigging out on Halloween candy!

On to Halloween makeup. My SIL got some kind of strange blue wig and black gown thing from the store so we decided that she would be a blue witch? I put that as a question because really we aren't quite sure what the hell she actually was.

I used mostly Sugarpill Cosmetics, rhinestones from Joanne Fabrics, and Wet n' Wild pink lipstick

I went as Malibu Barbie. I got the idea when I was talking about the second Addams Family movie. I look a bit scary in the pic and it's not even supposed to be scary!

Here's a look I did a couple days before Halloween using some Sugarpill and an unknown brand of gold gel liner just to get myself in the mood.

My daughter went as Hello Kitty of course and my sons opted for ghost face and a skeleton.

I guess overall it was a fun weekend and if nothing else we got to pig out on candy which is always welcome.

What I Need

I need to get off my ass and stop playing Rage, the game my amazing hubby got me, so that I can try out my new Sugarpill colors that I got over two days ago! I figured today would be a great day to try out some new looks before Halloween and do some swatches for you.

That's the hubby and I. I'm not angry, I just don't smile for pictures. No particular reason, I just always end up plastering on a cheesy fake smile that nobody believes anyway.

My daughter is going as Hello Kitty and I have some cool ideas for makeup, I'm just not sure how they will translate. The nice thing is that she's five so she's never really disappointed, she's just excited that she actually gets to wear makeup out of the house, something she knows she can't do until she's sixteen. Halloween is one of my all time favorite holidays and I do love to dress up and play human Barbie, unfortunately I don't think I'm going anywhere this year.

On to more interesting things, I'm a couple of days behind but wanted to share my thoughts on 2011's sexiest shoe. The winner was a pair of beige and black lace and leather pumps by Valentino that retail for $695. Not a bad deal when you consider the runner up shoe by Jimmy Choo cost over two grand. I happen to love the shoe, not that I will be getting them any time soon as my husband thinks there's more important things to spend money on like paying our mortgage. I'm not a huge fan of the Choo's. I get that they are absolutely beautiful but I feel like I've seen it before, in fact I feel like I already own the exact same shoe minus the actual crystals. I must say, I'm a little bias since I'm not a fan of these types of shoes in general. Maybe it's the fact that I'm a taller and thicker woman, they end up looking too dainty on me. Like I'm trying to crush the shoe rather than wear it.  The Prada boots that came in third are to die for. I do realize I just said the sandals were done to death and then complimented the boot even though they are as simple as it gets but I'm a sucker for a beautiful leather boot. The Chrissie Morris ankle boots that came in forth are super cute and I'm loving the heel. I don't usually do a peep-toe boot but I'd certainly rock these. I was surprised to not see Loub's on the list considering he was number one last year and had some killer shoes this year but I think ultimately people did a good job in choosing the right shoes for the list.

My Everyday

I'm off to watch my son receive an award for academic achievement from the school board but before I go I wanted to share my everyday eye look as well as post a couple pictures that I took of my daughter.

This is probably the least amount of makeup that I wear. I haven't even done mascara or lips yet.

I love grays so I use a mix of MAC's Electra and Sugarpill's Tiara for the inside of the eye and for the crease I use bulletproof by Sugarpill. Again haven't applied lashes or mascara.

This is just my daughter and I having some fun. I don't know if anyone has ever tried putting makeup on a five year old but the more you tell them to hold still the more they find it funny to squirm. Again, I used Sugarpill to get this look.

A Little Bit About Me and What I Do...

This is my very first attempt at writing a blog surprisingly enough. I've never really had anything interesting to share. I'm a lover of cosmetics, fashion, shoes, video games, baseball, and bikes and thought that perhaps bringing all of the different facets of my life together in one blog could be somewhat interesting, although I have a feeling it will mostly be about cosmetics since that's where my passion generally lies. I'm going to post a couple of looks that I have done recently but the pictures are pretty crappy. Some of these looks are completely ripped off and I'll be the first to admit that. If I see something I love, I try it and document how it came out. Some of them that I post (like some upcoming Halloween looks) are my own or I have drawn inspiration from other artists and build on it. I have started making my own line of shadows and will start posting photos of them as soon as I get a chance.

I promise to start taking pictures with a real camera rather than a cell phone soon.

This is a look that I love to do. Yes, I know it's been done to death but I think the colors are so much fun! While I love using grays, blacks, whites, and neutrals on my eyes I can't help but to be drawn to color. It's just so different and in a smaller town like where I am right now, really makes you stand out from the crowd. This look was created using a mix of SugarPill Cosmetics which I use almost daily and a generic palette with 88 colors that I ordered from Amazon.

One of my all time favorite looks is a pink smokey eye. Sometimes I'll use purple and sometimes black but it's definitely my go to look. I promise to take a better picture of it with a real camera next time.

My version of old Hollywood Glam. Again, it's been done but it's always fun. Rather than going for the more swooped wing I kept it pretty angular and brought it down instead of up a bit. The iphone does a weird fishbowl effect to my face so I included a normal picture of me to show that my lips and jaw are really not that big!

~Told you~

Lastly, I was going for more of an Egyption thing here. I really would like to do this look again and retake with a better camera because the white stood out so much against the black in the crease and the black liner. It's one of my boyfriends favorite looks (when he notices I did my makeup).
